November 19, 2011 – Rutherford, NJ.
MALO Health & Wellness in conjunction with the Living Heart Foundation, held a health assessment screening for retired professional NFL players. Being a professional NFL athlete is physically demanding. The players must consume a large amount of calories to maintain the energy levels necessary to train and perform optimally on game day.
Unfortunately, after retirement some of the athletes experience a drop off in physical activity, but not necessarily in diet. This can create a potentially unhealthy situation, that needs to be monitored and treated. Health screenings like this one allow the participants receive a complete head-to-toe health checkup in one visit. A convenience that is appreciated and clearly visible on the faces of the NFL Alumni.
The screening was held at MALO located in Rutherford, NJ. MALO’s model of convienece that allows patients to visit multiple medical specialities, while carrying only one digital medical record, mirrors the convience that the players experienced during this day.
This important event highlights the need of preventative medicine as a means to fend off serious illness during the later years of life.
