Diane Harraka Reiki and Acupressure Practitioner on Relieving Stress for a Healthy Mind and Body

Diane Harraka, Reiki and acupressure specialist at MALO Health & Wellness works with patients to stem stress-related illness and return patients’ bodies to balance. With more than 20 years of experience, Harraka is a certified practitioner in Jikiden Reiki and Integrative Energy Therapy, and is a member of Associate Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and International Association for Reiki Professionals (IARP).

She works with physicians to supplement treatment and achieve the highest level of health for each patient.

“I believe that in order to restore health and full body wellness, the body must be in balance,” said Harraka. “Stress can certainly throw our bodies off balance with chemical reactions and that is where Reiki, acupressure and simple stress management can really help us stay healthy.”

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique that was rediscovered in the 19th century to reduce stress and aid in relaxation. As such, Reiki is known to help in the healing process of injuries. The basis for Reiki is treatment is performed through what is called “hand healing” where the practitioner places gentle touches on various points of the patient’s body to improve the patient’s flow of energy.

What is Acupressure?

Acupressure is another restorative techniques that places light pressure on targeted points throughout the body to stimulate the body’s natural curative responses to injury and stressors. Acupressure is comprised of several Eastern medicine healing concepts such as the commonly known Shiatsu and reflexology.
